Dave Barry - Big Trouble

"Puggy had held own his job at the Jolly Jackal Bar and Grill, which did not have a grill, for almost three weeks. For Puggy, this was a personal employment record..."

That's the start of this hilarious novel by Dave Barry. It features a lot of funny characters (a single dad, some very clumsy criminals, a few dangerous Russians and the FBI, amongst others) in the funniest situations Miami/Florida has ever seen.

This is probably the funniest book that was ever written! You will have to laugh on every single page!

Simpsons Comics Jam-Packed Jambor

The Simpsons, the world's favourite family, return for more satirical suburban shenanigans! Marge becomes a no-nonsense judge; Bart manages to get the house repossessed in a seed-selling scam; Homer takes the family on a cruise of titanic proportions; Mr Burns takes a keen - well, financial-interest in Springfield's church...and the whole family take a revolutionary trip to the jungles of Central America! Also featuring Maliby Stacy, evil genius Dr Colossus, slightly less evil genius, Hank Scorpio and chain-smoking, McGuyver - loving Patty and Selma, this latest saga from Springfield will leave you rolling in the aisles!

Steve Martin - Shopgirl

Mirabelle works as a shop assistant in the glove department at Neiman's, L.A.'s finest store. She has two men in her life: Jeremy, a man who stencils amplifiers for a living; and Mr Roy Porter, a rich, older man who believes he can apply logic to relationships and is serially confused...

Shopgirl is a very beautifully written character study, a very true and often funny - though at times also sad - story about the ups and downs of life.

Not necessarily a comedy, but definately worth reading!

Lauren Weisberger - The Devil Wears Prada

Andrea Sachs goes to work for Miranda Priestly, the all-powerful editor of Runway magazine. It turns out Miranda is quite the bossyboots. Miranda's behaviour is so insanely over-the-top that it's a gas to see what she'll do next.. For instance, when Miranda goes to Paris for the collections, Andrea receives a call back at the New York office (where, incidentally, she's not allowed to leave her desk to eat or go to the bathroom, lest her boss should call). Miranda bellows over the line: "I am standing in the pouring rain on the rue de Rivoli and my driver has vanished. Vanished! Find him immediately!"

The book that was made into the popular movie - A Must Read!

Sue Townsend - The Secret Diary Of Adrian Mole

"I felt rotten today. It's my mother's fault for singing 'My Way' at two o'clock in the morning at the top of the stairs. Just my luck to have a mother like her. There is a chance my parents could be alcoholics. Next year I could be in a children's home."

At thirteen years old, Adrian Mole has more than his fair share of problems. Spots, ill-health, parents threatening divorce, and rejection for his poetry from the BBC... how much longer can he go on!!!.

Typically British! This book is whitty, intelligent and easy to read! A Must-Have for everyone!
