Listening Comprehension Tests (standardized formats)

There are a number of ways to test learners' understanding of spoken language. The main test formats - also used in FCE-exams and most European school leaving exams - are: "True-or-False"; "Multiple Matching"; "Multiple Choice"; and "Gapfill" exercises. Besides, some tests also include tasks to check general understanding through summary writing tasks or open question. FCE is at Level B2 of the Council of Europe Common European
Framework of Reference for Languages, which makes it comparable to school leaving exams in English in most European high school or secondary school systems.

Cambridge University provides a number of resources to train reading, listening, Use-of-English and speaking skills on various levels.
CAE is at Level C1 of the Council of Europe Common European
Framework of Reference for Languages, which is usually the level of English necessary at the beginning of university studies or higher education courses.
